My research in this area is heavily centered on the political, social, and cultural roles that have been expressed  through the visual arts of hispanics as unique creators and observers of North American culture. From a historical perspective I am analyzing how the above mentioned roles have been obscured or eliminated from mainstream exposure to Hispanic/Latino culture and arts in the U.S.. Within my work is a concerted interest in how the creative process has also enabled communities to overcome difficulties and assert cultural democracy.
